Tasting Notes

Mauro Molino was born in Piemonte, grew up amongst the storied hills and iconic vines, and graduated from Alba Winemaking School in 1973. After a few years of making wine in Emilia Romagna, he returned to start his own winery in the Langhe following the passing of his father. Grown in calcareous and clay soils from vineyards across their holdings in Barolo, this wine is meant to typify the region, through Molino’s understated elegance. Fermentation in steel before aging in French oak barrels for 18 months. Smoky and gently stony notes with some ripe strawberries and cherries. There are also nicely delivered oak spices. Really fresh. The palate has some creamy, approachable and sweetly fleshy tannins. Good balance.
