Tasting Notes

A lovely, well-balanced wine on the nose, with predominantly cherry and berry notes. Velvety and generous on the palate, with sweet, soft tannins.

Grape Varieties: 70% Sangiovese, 15% Ciliegiolo, 15% Montepulciano d’Abruzzo.

Origin: Municipality of Cinigiano, Province of Grosseto, Maremma region, Tuscany, Italy.

Aging: For 10 months, 50% in oak and 50% in stainless steel tanks. Minimum refinement of 6 months in bottle.

Alcohol: 14%.

Serving temperature: 20-22 °C.

Food Pairing: This wine will go perfectly with most dishes, and it is particularly well suited to game, grilled meats, hearty soups, and mature cheeses.

Critical Praise

This is an organic wine (vino biologico). It's made using the ancient Governo all’uso Toscano technique, a way to increase smoothness and reduce acidity in wines made from Sangiovese and other local varieties.

The up-and-coming appellation, Montecucco DOC, is located right between the Brunello di Montalcino zone and the Morellino di Scansano zone.
