Tasting Notes

Pearl Morissette Estate Winery produces small quantities of estate wines, maintained by a set of rigorous standards. The work here is informed by an ethos of searching for the inherent beauty of the Niagara wine region through a process of exploration and integrity. In vinification, the grapes are guided through the sole use of indigenous yeasts, with no fining and filtration and minor sulphur editions, and most importantly - sustainable practices from plantation to bottle.
This "step out of the way" approach, coupled with dedication to focus is an irrepressible tool in unearthing wines that are reflective of a place and time.

The 2012 Cuvee Dix-Neuvieme comes from a hot and dry vintage. A mouth-filling, generous wine with a deep, golden colour and aromas of ripe yellow plums, warm spices and orange flower. The palate is textured, rich, yet fresh with honeyed pear, beeswax and floral aromas.
An exceptionally long finish gives this wine elegance and poise.

Perfect Pairings: Mushroom risotto, light pasta, white fish, soft cheeses, crab cakes, and buttered corn.
