Tasting Notes

Known for their long lived Chateauneuf du Pape,
the family Jaume produces what is essentially referred to as the bench mark Lirac in all of the Southern Rhone region.

Intense , dark and drinking really like a Chateauneuf du Pape, at basically a third of the price. Each year I am amazed at the quality of this wine and each year it just seems like it gets better and better. The 2010 is perhaps the finest version that the family has made to date and we were able to secure the last remaining cases from the winery.This wine is a gem, a true bargain at these prices and you should buy as much as you are able.

Antonio Galonni has this to say about the Grand Veneur Lirac 2010 - "The Jaumes produce one of the finest wines of Lirac. The 2010 Clos de Sixte Lirac should compete with the brilliant 2009. Black currant, spring flower, licorice and crushed rock aromas jump from the glass of this dense ruby/purple-colored, full-bodied, beautifully pure, textured and dense Lirac. It should drink well for at least a decade."
