Tasting Notes

Ca del Monte is situated on the hillsides overlooking the villa of Negrar, in the heart of Valpolicella. It has belonged to the same family for generations, and is run nowadays by brother Umberto and Giuseppe Zaconte.

Corvina is the most popular grape of the Valpolicella blends. This wine has been made with 45% of Corvina, 35% Rondinella, 15% of Negrara and 5% of Pelara.

This Ripasso shows a pure red-berry and black-cherry bouquet with grilled herbs, iris, violet and almond. Despite the depth of flavors, it is silky and warm with a surprisingly elegant mid-weight mouth feel that finishes with plump fruit and a well integrated spicy/oak kiss. This is a wine that is ready to consume over the next 12 months.

This Valpolicella pairs with game meats, roast chicken, wood oven pizza and pasta with full flavoured sauces. ​It is also amazing when served with aged cheeses.
