Tasting Notes

Brilliant deep ruby in colour, with aromas of red and black berries including currants and raspberry with a light, pleasant balsamic note. Warm and velvety on the palate, acidity and ripe tannins provide great structure with berry flavours, and earthy undertones.

In 2004, a group of young people founded «Addiopizzo», a protest movement against racket – i.e. the «pizzo» - imposed on Sicilian shopkeepers by the local mafia. The growers of Valdibella belonged to the very first people who adhered to this movement. To say «No» to the pizzo means to sustain the social equilibrium and the dignity of Sicily.
