Tasting Notes

the estate flagship with just "Cortes de Cima," is a blend of 40% Syrah, 17% Alicante Bouschet, 20% Touriga Franca, 12% Petit Verdot and the rest divided between Cabernet Sauvignon and Trincadeira, all aged for 12 months in 30% new French oak. It comes in at 13.6% alcohol. The winery is attempting to change this blend up a bit to include somewhat better grapes and grape selections. This is an elegant red, fresh but full of character and flavor. With the Syrah and Alicante accounting for 57% of the blend, you know it will have a strong personality. It has the freshness, ripe tannins and balance to age for the rest of the decade, maybe more. It's a nice value in an appealing package
